Does Fayette realize the need for broadband?

I just read your "Opinion" article, "Who is up to the task of getting Fayette wired?" First, a big "well said"!
No question, all you said is on the money. But, maybe there are a few more things you would like to know.
This week Microsoft announced that their new Windows, named Windows Millennium, or Windows ME for short, will be "very heavy into media." Though most of us have to wait until Sept. 14, the release date to see exactly what they are talking about, I can say it is much more than just a "feature" of this new operating system.
If you watch stocks and related reports, you already know that CBS, now Viacom, has made an agreement for digital program origination and full interactive TV/movies to be distributed through the Internet.
Is the picture becoming clearer? Soon, very soon, all media will arrive at your house/business via the Internet. Have you noticed the "push" by the satellite dish people? Could it be the next "buggy whip?"
Entertainment as well as business communication is about to see another major jump. I hope Fayette understands, without 21st century access, business will relocate, individuals will sell their homes in order to catch up with the state of the art.
Knock, knock... HELLO... Is there anybody alive in Fayette County?
Good job, Cal!
