Coweta needs to do more for cruelly abandoned dogs and cats

Re: Pet Dumping and abuse.

Why do people acquire pets, particularly dogs, and then after a few months dump them out somewhere?

This irresponsible, cruel behavior should be equal to other criminal offenses and punishable with heavy fines or jail time.}

While playing golf at White Oak [recently], we encountered two poor homeless dogs, both having collar rings around neck where they had been removed when the sorry owners dumped them. They were friendly, and followed us, enjoying the attention and petting we offered.

What a shame, and you know the worst part — if they were taken to the Coweta Death House (so called shelter), they will be put to sleep within two weeks.
Coweta County is one of the fastest growing counties in the country and can spends millions on industrial property, soccer field lights, and everything else, but halfheartedly expanded the Cracker-Jack-box shelter with prison labor and spare concrete blocks to get pressure off, not to construct a modern functional facility keeping pace with our county’s growth.

Maybe some of you out there will get compassionate or mad and get involved with the Coweta County Human Society and Catfish to do something about the plight of these poor creatures who can’t help themselves.
