Last Saturday, the Southern All Stars invaded Senoia Speedway for a special Late Model Series race. Scott Griffin of Tyrone led for 108 laps until his car could go no further.

The first 107 laps we had them all covered, said Griffin the 1999 fourth place points championship finisher. We made a decision not to take on tires hoping for a long green race like last year. It just didn't go in our favor. Everybody else came in and got tires and then ours went away quick. The brakes went out about the lap 106 and the tires right after that because I didn't have anyway to slow it down entering the corners.

Griffin finished the race in sixth place, while Ronnie Sanders of Fayetteville placed third. Other local finishers included John Davis of Senoia at 12th, Allen karnes of Shapsburg at 14th and Newnan's Roger Delp at 16th.

In the Sportsman division, John Bell of Senoia captured his second win of the season. Andy Cash of Brooks, the Sportsman division points leader and last week's winner, placed second. Mark Lore of Senoia placed fourth.

The Street Stock division had several local winners as well. Mike Steffen of Fayetteville placed second, while Mark Lore, the points leader in Street Stock, placed third. Ted Willingham of Senoia placed fourth.

The action continues this Saturday and every Saturday.
