Bryan Digby's newly-signed baseball contract with the Atlanta Braves calls for a bonus “well in the six-figure range” according to the recent McIntosh High School graduate.

Local school earn high rankings in Director's Cup

The inaugural season of the Gatorade-Director's Cup has been completed, awarding Walton, Marist, Wsetminster and Lovett High School's the award. Each school in the GHSA was awarded points for their athletic finishes in 23 sports. A championship earned 100 points and a runner-up spot earned 80 points down to 10 points for finishing from 17th through 32nd.

Our Lady of Mercy High School, Fayette County's first catholic high school, is preparing for their inaugural school year and athletic season.

Tigers win shootout

The Fayette County 2000 Summer Classic was held at the four Fayette County high schools over the weekend. Fayette County, McIntosh, Sandy Creek and Starr's Mill fielded teams and competed against squads from all over the state. Fayette County fielded three teams and won the tournament with their Divsion I team.

InLine Hockey returns to PTC this fall

Registration for the fall season of Peachtree City Roller Hockey will be held on July 8 at the Kedron Field House. The league is open to boys and girls ages 7-15 and is sanctioned by USA Hockey InLine. The league will emphasize teamwork, inline skating and physical fitness. To promote safety, every player must wear HECC approved hockey helmet with cage, mouth piece, elbow pads, hockey shin/knee guards, protective cup and hockey gloves. Enrollment is limited in each age group.
