Local school earn high rankings in Director's Cup

The inaugural season of the Gatorade-Director's Cup has been completed, awarding Walton, Marist, Wsetminster and Lovett High School's the award. Each school in the GHSA was awarded points for their athletic finishes in 23 sports. A championship earned 100 points and a runner-up spot earned 80 points down to 10 points for finishing from 17th through 32nd.

The local schools performed well this year and look to have a promising future in the Gatorade-Director's Cup standing. In Class AAAA, McIntosh placed eighth with 440 points, while Fayette County finished 12th with 330 points. Starr's Mill captured third place in AAA with 619 points and Landmark Christian placed third in Class A with 510 points.
