Kids Triathlon sees big turnout

More than 300 youths participated in the ninth annual Peachtree City Kids Triathlon last Saturday.

Participants swam at the Glenloch pool, then biked and finally ran. Distances depended upon age. The juniors, 7 - 10, swam one lap, biked three miles and ran a half mile. Seniors, 11 - 15, swam two laps, biked six miles and ran one mile.

All who finished received medals, water bottles and t-shirts. At the finish line, participants were treated to pizza, yogurt and drinks.

First place winners were:

Male: Seven-year-old — Andy Lucak; 8-year-old — Grant Smith; 9-year-old — Drexel Neumann; 10-year-old — Brenden Leonard; 11-year-old — Alexander Coville; 12-year-old — John Hanson; 13-year-old — Micah Koffler; 14-year-old — Andre Coville; 15-year-old — Kenny Jubb.

Female: Seven-year-old — Claire McIlwraith; 8-year-old — Shannon Mehl; 9-year-old — Kirsten Pretzer; 10-year-old — Kelsey MacGinnis; 11-year-old — Allison Kessler; 12-year-old — Allison Fratto; 13-year-old — Britin Ellard; 14-year-old — Kendal Hayes; 15-year-old — Brittany Boggs.
