Cassie Shular, a student at Starr's Mill High School, signed with Mercer University and will run on their cross country team in the fall. The Peachtree City native was a standout performer on both her track and cross country teams. In fact, Shular's cross country squad captured a region championship this past season and a second place finish at the state meet.

Mercer's cross country coach Ben Leonard said, “We are excited about the arrivl of Cassie for next season. She comes from a quality program and her timestell me that she can step right in and contribute immediately. Even more important is that she gets the job done in the classroom where she has an impressive 3.9 grade point average. Because she is such an exceptional student-athlete, I think she is a perfect fit for Mercer University.”
