The regional basketball tournaments will begin on Monday. The boys 4-AAAA tournament will be held at Fayette County High School, with Fayette County as one of the possible favorites. They are a talented team, with lots of speed and athleticism. McIntosh will give every one of their opponents a tough game, though they are not as deep as they have been in the past. The tournament will last until Friday.

The 4-AAAA girls tournament will be held at LaGrange High School. The favorite has to be East Coweta, which returned several players from last year's squad. Last year, the Lady Indians went deep in the state tournament. McIntosh will also be a tough team in the tournament. Capable of winning on any given night, the Lady Chiefs are excellent shooters and they are fast. Fayette County's girls were in a rebuilding mode this year, but still keep it close against most of their opponents. With the right seeding and a little luck, they could last a while as well.

Starr's Mill will be the sight of the boys and girls 4-AAA tournament. The Sandy Creek boys have come along this season and are playing some great ball of late, while the Lady Patriots are playing well, despite being in a rebuiding year. Starr's Mill's boys and girls teams have both improved exponentially in their second year of varsity play and could surprise some teams in the tournament. The favorites in the 4-AAA tournament will be Riverdale, Woodward Academy and North Clayton.
