Peachtree City police Saturday arrested two teenagers for stealing beer from a garage refrigerator in the Kedron Village area.

The burglary occurred at a home on Emerling Lane and responding officers searched the area. The officers came across two male juveniles, ages 15 and 16, who were later placed under arrest, police said.

The investigation determined that the juveniles were also involved in a second, previously unreported theft. Each was charged with two counts of burglary, police said.

The alcohol that was allegedly taken was recovered and returned to the owner who reported it stolen, police said.

We live in South PTC and have had beer stolen several times. Add to that a GPS, and several backpacks. We're very careful with our locks now but I think the beer in the garage theft is common all over town.

One friend's neighbor got fed up and untwisted the caps, peed in the beer and recapped the bottles. And yes, they were stolen.
That's right. Tee-tee beer.
Mmm Mmm.....

The punishment sure seems to fit the crime.

The cops need to scare the crap out of these dumb kids so they will think twice before they pull a stunt like this again. Not a big enough deal to ruin their future over a couple of beers. The homeowner needs to learn to keep his garage doors closed when he or she is not in the garage, like most people do. If you do not, you are just asking for trouble. I am not condoning these little petty thieves, but how many times does this sort of thing have to happen for homeowners to wake up and secure their property.

The Process continues!

What if the garage door was shut, but they were able to climb through a window? I cannot tell from this article, but why do we assume that the homeowner as at fault? Any house or garage can be broken into without too much effort, barring a security system or vigilence.

Looks like the beer was calling their names, so they took it. LOL. Stupid kids, oh well they'll learn.

How would the citizen's faithful bloggers respond if the teenage perps had been identified as black...

Better yet, how would this non-story be reported by the citizen if the perps were black teens... my guess is home invasion with "gang affiliation"... complete with mug shots

Nice -- just a matter of time B4 'someone' makes it about Race! It's getting old; very old.

In years past, some little assholes stole beer from my garage twice. Called the cops both times to no avail. Invading someone's garage is one step from invading your home. Could get blasted.

Can you start buying something else besides crappy Miller Lite? Twice I've raided your freezer and all I got was Miller and a couple of Budweisers. Buy some imports and microbrews, please. Thanks!

Breaking and entering or B&E is a dangerous game, especially here in GA where the homeowner has the right to protect their own lives if they feel threatened. Dumb parents =dumb kids. Teach your kids to respect other people's property it really is the safest way to live.

Kind of makes you say WTF! Sad isn't it??

Such good families and then this happens......

Maybe these "good kids"(??????) should just steal from their parents from now on..just saying...

It's just crazy when breaking and entering and stealing aren't good family values anymore.!! What is this world coming to when criminals are made fun of?????

I can remember when I was 16 and a friend and I would drive 8 miles to a store where we knew we could buy those little Stubbies or Quart bottles of Country Club Malt Liquor without worrying about ID! But never, no never, would we have thought of stealing anything from anybody!

LOL AtHomeGym--- you are right ! We didn't have to steal because we could buy it easily. The PTC Police have done such a good job here that they can't slip a 12 pack through. Yeah I remember the Country Club, Old English, Schlitz and Narragansett quarts. You could get an older dude to buy you a quart but you had to make sure he didn't drink half of it first and then fill it up back up with urine. The other poster is right though--- sneak in someone's garage and they may beat the crap out of ya. Heck, even worse==I'd hate to think what would happen if I got caught stealing the old man's beer.
