Qualifying in Tyrone to begin Aug. 31

Qualifying for two town council begins Aug. 31 and ends Sept. 4. Those interested should visit town hall on Senoia Road during the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Qualifying will be for Post 3 held by Grace Caldwell and for Post 4 held by Gloria Furr. The qualifying fee is $144.

I sure hope your newspaper holds another Election Forum in Tyrone this year. Your forum on asking candidates questions sent in by voters went a long way toward helping us get rid of the former town managers. But now we need to ask candidates about unfulfilled promises and stolen money.

Don't hold your breath about getting citizen's "stolen money" returned.

The GBI cleared the town and the DA won't prosecute.

The Town Council sure as heck won't reopen the investigation willingly because some of them (the two up for re-election) were on the Council when this occurred!
