Kiwanis Fair brings in top-notch entertainment By MICHAEL
BOYLAN Visitors to the Fayette County Kiwanis Fair know that there will be lots of fun rides to ride and games to play, as well as lots of exhibits to peruse and food to eat. This year's fair will also offer up some fine musical selections as well, promising a little something for everybody. Performing tonight at 7, 8 and 9 p.m. is Atlanta-based Waterproof Feat. The band has been together since 1998 and features members Carly Kane on vocals, Josh LeBlanc on bass, David Norwood on guitar, Billy Williams on drums and Wes Williams on guitar. They have played at several Atlanta venues, including American Pie and Smith's Olde Bar and have even performed with Colin Hay of Men at Work. Alisa McCance and RiverSage will perform at 7,8 and 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday. The group plays a unique brand of country music that blends bluegrass, pop and southern rock with more traditional country sounds. The audience is sure to find themselves tapping their toes along with the band and enjoying the sound of their fiddles and their harmonies. A1A - the original Jimmy Buffet tribute show - will close out the festival with performances at 7, 8 and 9 p.m. on Saturday. The band was the first to ever put together a show composed of nothing but Buffet's best songs. They have performed all over the country and have been joined by members of Buffett's own Coral Reefer Band on several occasions. Gate admission to the fair is $5 for ages 12-64, $2 for ages 5-11 and 65 and up and free for ages 4 and under. Armbands for the carnival rides are $15, Monday-Thursday, good for use from 6-10 p.m. Armbands for Friday are $18 and good for use from 6-11 p.m. Saturday's armband is also $18 and good from 1 p.m.-12 a.m. The fair will take place at the Kiwanis Fair Complex on Goza Rd. in Fayetteville.
