Ryan attends conference for women in business Glenda Ryan, president of Southern Crescent Personnel, recently attended the third annual Georgia Women Entrepreneurs Network Conference in Savannah. A division of the University of Georgia's Small Business Development Center, GWEN provided Ryan and other women executives an opportunity to gain new insights on how to build their business. "We're not content to rest on our laurels," said Ryan, whose Morrow-based staffing agency was named by the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce as its 2002 Small Business of the Year. "In today's competitive marketplace, success requires a real commitment to gaining knowledge, understanding trends and building networks. The information we gained at the GWEN Conference will help make SCP a stronger and more profitable business." The Southeast Procurement Fair was held in conjunction with the conference. More than sixty vendors looking for certified women-owned businesses to meet their federally mandated contract requirements, were in attendance. Georgia has more than 150,000 women-owned businesses.
