Epps, Ahart to be ordainedTue, 09/05/2006 - 3:40pm

Jason D. Epps of Senoia and Daniel L. Ahart of Fayetteville will be ordained to the ministry Sunday, Sept. 10, at 5 p.m. at Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church in Coweta County. The Most Rev. John Holloway, bishop of the Mid-South Diocese, will conduct the ordination ceremony. Epps, a lieutenant with the Peachtree City Police Department, holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Georgia State University and attended Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, Ill. He currently is enrolled in St. Michael’s Seminary as a master of ministry student. Epps has served as lay eucharistic minister and as a licensed liturgical minister. He and his wife, Jessica, have three children. Epps is the son of Father David and Dr. Cindy Epps of Sharpsburg. Ahart, a certified public accountant, is CEO of Ahart Tax Service and received his bachelor’s in business administration from Georgia State University. He currently is nearing completion of a master of sacramental theology degree from Logos Seminary in Jacksonville, Fla. He also has served as a lay eucharistic minister and licensed liturgical minister. Ahart has been active in the Society of St. Nicholas, a ministry of the Cathedral of St. Michael and All Angels in Thomaston, which provides food for 125-150 families weekly. He and his wife, Joni, have two adult children. He is the son of Father Waymon and Lavada Ahart of Fayetteville. Christ the King Church is at 4881 Ga. Hwy. 34 East, between Peachtree City and Newnan.
