St. Christopher’s plans first homecomingTue, 09/05/2006 - 3:39pm

St. Christopher Hellenic Orthodox Church in Peachtree City will have its first Homecoming Sunday, Sept. 17, including a celebration of Orthros and Divine Liturgy, followed by a festive Luncheon. “This Christian celebration welcomes former and present members, as well as anyone interested in learning more about the Orthodox Church,” said the Very Rev. Fr. George Tsahakis, presbyter of St. Christopher’s. Presentations also will be made on various church programs, including religious education, charitable works, choir and hymns, and Hellenic dance and language. All are invited to stay for luncheon immediately following the presentations. Orthros will begin at 7:45 a.m., followed by the Divine Liturgy at 9 a.m. Presentations will begin at 10:30 a.m. St. Christopher’s is at 313 Dividend Drive, Suite 210, Peachtree City. St. Christopher Hellenic Orthodox Church serves the southern Atlanta metropolitan area of Clayton, Coweta, Fayette, Henry, Spalding and South Fulton counties. Orthros and Liturgy are in mixture of Greek and English. Orthodox Christians from other nationalities such as Rumanian Orthodox, Bulgarian Orthodox and Russian Orthodox are members and all are welcome. St. Christopher is a parish of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Atlanta, and its intent is to include all nationalities in its Orthodox Church. For more information, contact the Very Rev. Fr.
