So you think need some color in your life. Why not just drop by the local paint store? They will have the perfect color. It’s just that easy, or is it? After all, it’s only paint. After an hour of pondering the choices and those yummy colors, you can just go home with 100 swatches and tape them around the house. Ask all your friends for their opinions. Have you noticed those swatches change color in different rooms at different times of the day? Are you now feeling totally confused? Color can truly transform a home. A few gallons of paint will give a dramatic change at a most affordable price. Color can trick your eye. It can make a small room look large or have the effect of making a room cozy and warm. A good color scheme costs no more than a bad one, but it makes quite a difference. Playing it safe with color can be a little bland and then you have missed an opportunity to create a more exciting interior. Linking color throughout a floor plan can give a home a more harmonious feeling. Picking that perfect palette is no easy task. One reliable way to find color is to see what Mother Nature offers us in a beautiful palette. Just look outside your window or take a drive in the countryside. The autumn is truly spectacular time for color and offers a warm and inviting palette of amber tones, warm browns with touches of gold and red. Inspiration for color is all around you, so take a look and be inspired. Don’t be afraid just go for it. We are all unique and it is important to reflect your personality into your home. Trends come and go! However, combining function and style to create a warm and inviting space is always in fashion. Lindy Jennings, Owner Simple Style Interior Design |
