Fayetteville resident Yvette Tilton cradles her dog Jasper on her back porch where the 12-year-old Catahoula was shot in the mouth Aug. 21 after Fayette County deputies arrived at the residence to serve a warrant on Tilton’s brother. The man they sought, however, was already behind bars. He had been in the Fayette County Jail since May. The deputy said Jasper charged him. Tilton said the action of law enforcement was excessive.
