Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fayetteville has added two staff members to lead its youth ministry. Paula Littleton, who served as the assistant youth director at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church for the last five years, is the new youth director. Kevin Dixon, who has been working with the youth ministry as a volunteer, joins the staff as youth ministry assistant. As youth director, Littleton is responsible for coordinating existing youth activities as well as developing new ministries that will connect more youth and their families to the church. “I think God planned a long time ago to put me here. There is so much potential and energy here. I think this congregation and this pastor are excellent examples of God’s love,” stated Littleton. “I want to be in a church where my family and I can grow in our faith along with being inservice and I believe that Prince of Peace is the place.” As she begins her ministry, Littleton says she hopes to expand the church’s youth ministry which includes the “God Squads” for both middle and high school youth, who have performed programs here in Fayetteville and on tours around the southeast. Dixon, who also works full-time as an adjuster for State Farm Insurance, will be a mentor to the youth, focusing on encouraging the youth to become more involved and on building relationships. His role, according to Pastor Justin Kollmeyer, will be to “lead events and activities that will attract more of our congregation’s youth into greater service, involvement, and discipleship for Jesus Christ.” “I want to see the youth here begin to reach out to those beyond the church walls and to bring others outside the church closer to God,” stated Dixon. He adds, “The wonderful thing about working with these kids and young adults is that they are inspiring me to live a Godly life just as I can inspire them. I’m anxious to get more and more kids involved and to be able to enrich the spiritual lives of as many youths as possible.’ Kollmeyer, who has been pastor at Prince of Peace for over 20 years, says, “We are so excited about Paula and Kevin joining our already excellent youth ministry, and we look for them to lead us to the next level of service to the youth and families of our community.” Littleton lives in Fayetteville with her husband John and their daughter Emily. They also have two sons, Mathew and Jeremy, and a daughter, Megan. In addition to spending time with family and friends, her hobbies and interests include gardening, entertaining, writing devotions and journaling. Dixon is single and lives in Duluth. He enjoys sports, especially ice hockey, baseball and reading.
