Don’t do business with former Delta executives

I read someone’s comments about Leo Mullin being on the board of directors for Bell South. After that, I googled Michelle Burns’ name and found she is doing her thing with Cisco, Mirant Corp., former Southern Energy, and Wal-Mart.

I’m sure the rest of the group that got the $45 million “retirement” from Delta wouldn’t be too hard to find.

I have felt for a long time that the employees of Delta and retirees were raped. The ones of us who put in, as I did, 34 years, have gotten letters last week telling us that as soon as the company can unload their promise of paid insurance for us, they intend to do so.

This week, I got a letter saying they found it “prudent” to not make this payment, and I assume, future payments, to our retirement fund.

The back side of the letter (saving money, using both sides) stated what was gonna happen to our pensions if the government took the pension plan over was not very pretty.

My little pension, $2,200 before taxes, would go down to less than $1,700 and some change if I am lucky. That is, before my insurance payment and taxes will be taken out.

The question is, what do you do? We have been raped, no question, we are old and helpless, can’t hire lawyers, what do you do?

The only answer is what I have been doing for a long time. Don’t spend your money with the companies that chose to hire these people.

There were about 26,000 people working at Delta once. I don’t know how many “retired” or are still sitting there very unhappy, staying only with false hope, but you have the power of what is left of your small amount of money to do with it as you please.

I don’t give it to these companies. I have also long stopped using the services of any company that sends the jobs overseas. I resent calling ”customer service” and find I am talking to someone in a Third World county that can’t understand me, nor has the ability, nor desire to help me.

My money is little and dear. I will not give it to some company that sends jobs and money overseas, only to pay their VIPs that mastermind this vulgar salaries that, in a small part, are my money. There are many of us in the same boat.

These companies and people count on your patronage. Can you imagine the power of each of us, 26,000, plus friends, plus others who have been done the same way?

I can’t tell you what to do, but I am happy that I don’t spend my money at these companies and that I have let them know why.

I wonder what 26,000 other letters would do? Do you think they might just get rid of these “masterminds” if they thought it would help their bottom line?
