Reservation status/reminders now available Customers who have a scheduled road test reservation with the Department of Driver Services (DDS) may now access their reservation information on-line and even request an e-mail reminder via the DDS’ Web site, www.dds.ga.gov. This additional on-line service is another step in a major customer service improvement plan to make DDS’ services faster, friendlier and easier. The reservation status service allows any customer who already has scheduled an automobile, motorcycle or commercial driver’s license road test or those with appointments to exchange a valid out-of-state driver’s license for a Georgia driver’s license the ability to: · Check the status of a reservation. · Review the documents you will need to bring. · Obtain pertinent information about the location of the test (driving directions). · Print a confirmation copy of the reservation. · Request an e-mail reminder be sent up to seven days before their reservation. Making reservation information readily available on-line should reduce the number of customers who arrive for service without critical documents. E-mail reminders should reduce the percentage of customers who miss scheduled appointments and will also reduce the number of calls to the Customer Contact Center from people who forgot or misplaced their reservation information. “DDS takes good care of our customers, even when our offices are closed,” said DDS Commissioner Greg Dozier. “We will continue to develop more efficient processes to make conducting business with our Agency easier,” he added. Many other transactions are available at www.dds.ga.gov including: initiating a change of address, replacing a lost license, renewing a driver’s license or Georgia Identification Card and obtaining a personal driving history (MVR). The Georgia Driver’s Manual and a practice road rules test are also available online. login to post comments |
