Diamond Rio, Danielle Peck perform Saturday Grammy Award-winning and Grand Ole Opry inductees Diamond Rio with hot, new country artist Danielle Peck will round out the Villages Amphitheater’s summer concert series on Saturday, August 26. The six guys who make such beautiful noise together are one the best selling country bands of their generation. In 1990, Diamond Rio signed with Arista Records and recorded its debut CD that went Platinum. Since then, they’ve basked in the sunshine of eight Group-of-the-Year honors, five Grammy nominations, four million albums sold and adoring multitudes of concert attendees. Their sounds helped define the "young country" movement of the 1990s. More than that, their talent is demonstrated through their unbelievable vocal and instrumental skills that these six men brought to the table when they came to Music Row. Diamond Rio was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 1998, and was the first band to receive that honor in 14 years. To date, Diamond Rio has had 25 Top Ten country hits, nine number one singles and sold more than 10 million albums. Their hits include “Meet in the Middle,” “Love a Little Stronger,” “In a Week or Two,” “Imagine That,” “One More Day,” “Beautiful Mess” and their recent song “In God We Still Trust.” Opening up for Diamond Rio is new country artist, singer/songwriter Danielle Peck. There is an undeniable division in Danielle Peck's voice. A bluesy pull, a reluctant smokiness that, when it breaks, yields soaring, ringing, soul-stirring power and clarity. That tantalizing slow-pour tension is a fitting reflection of the artist herself. Peck was born in Jacksonville, N.C., the daughter of a U.S. Marine and grew up in Coshocton, Ohio. She wrote her first song before she was 10 and at age 16 she joined a local band, the Neon Moon Band, and played bars around her hometown, as well as local summer fairs. After several years on the bar and festival circuit, Peck moved to Nashville and landed a publishing deal. The combination of talent, personality and emotion shows in everything Peck does. Her self-titled debut release, preceded by the chart-rocketing first single "I Don't," reveals all the complexities associated with being a young woman making her way in a new millennium. And so the many facets of Danielle Peck -- a modern country girl, vulnerable and confident -- shine through in a way that's already capturing the ears and hearts of country fans nationwide. Beyond the single “I Don’t”, Peck’s songs include "Fallin' Apart," "Sucks To Be You," "Only The Lonely Talkin’” and her current Top 20 hit "Findin' A Good Man." Tickets for the show are on sale at www.villagesamphitheater.com or may be purchased at the Historic Train Depot and Welcome Center on 250 Lanier Ave. East or by calling Main Street at 770-719-4173. Limited advanced seating is available for both $40 reserved seats and $35 lawn seats. Gates open at 7 p.m., Danielle Peck will begin at 8 p.m. and Diamond Rio will take the stage at 9 p.m. login to post comments |
