Mr. and Mrs. David E. Niebes of Peachtree City announce the engagement of their daughter, Heather Lynn Niebes, to Edward Louis Sherwood III, son of retired Lt. Col. and Mrs. Edward L. Sherwood Jr. of Peachtree City.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sheperd of Peachtree City and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Niebes of Fairborn, Ohio. She is a 2001 graduate of McIntosh High School and a 2005 graduate of Mercer University, with a bachelor’s degree in sociology. She presently attends the University of West Georgia and is pursuing a master’s degree in school counseling.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Ruth Cranford of Christian City and the late Jack Cranford of East Point, and Flossie Turner Grant of Los Angeles, Calif. and the late Edward L. Sherwood, Sr. of Johnson City, Tenn. He is a 2002 graduate of McIntosh High School and currently is a firefighter/EMT with the Fayette County Fire & Emergency Service. He is pursuing his associates degree in paramedic technology from Griffin Technical College.

The wedding will be in September in McDonough.

The couple will reside in Fayetteville.
