A non-profit group helping make the holidays brighter for needy persons is in need of volunteers and warehouse space.

Fayette Holiday Helpers helps make sure children get Christmas toys and clothing, and they also help elderly and disabled persons who need assistance. Many of the beneficiaries are referred from the Department of Family and Children Services, churches and schools.

Families requesting assistance will be screened and interviewed beginning in October. Volunteers are needed to help with interviews and later into the holiday season at the warehouse, which will be used to store, sort and prepare the donated gifts for delivery to families.

Office and administrative help is needed, with the positions lasting through early December.

The warehouse space is needed from early November through early January.
