Former Governor Roy Barnes will visit Fayette County on Saturday, Aug. 26, to headline an event on behalf of Kevin Madden, candidate for the Georgia General Assembly (House District 72). The event will be held at Blue Moon Farm, the home of Dr. Richard and Judith Moore, in Fairburn (Fayette County) from 5-8 p.m.

Madden has been a resident of Peachtree City for the past eight years and has been an active participant there as baseball, soccer, and hockey coaches in the community sports programs. Madden is chairman of the Fayette County Democratic Committee and was a delegate to the 2004 Democratic National Convention.

Madden attended St. John’s University and has been in the transportation business for over 30 years. He is the owner of Global Airlift Services Corporation and is currently the President of the Atlanta Air Cargo Association, a civic organization that promotes the airline industry by providing college endowments, scholarships and charitable contributions.

He is married to Kim, a Fayette County educator. They have been married for 23 years, and they have three sons. The Maddens are members of the Holy Trinity Church in Peachtree City.

“I believe it’s time we put the ‘public’ back into public servant,” said Madden. “I’ve always believed that government runs best, not from the left or right, but from the ‘middle. Education, healthcare, opportunity and security are the primary issues of my campaign. My campaign is beholden to no one except to the voters of District 72.”
