Phillip Joseph Sullivan Jr. 79, Fayetteville, died Aug. 14, 2006. He was born May 31, 1927 in Birmingham, Ala. He was preceded in death by a son, Brad Nickola, a brother, Dr. Gilbert Sullivan, and a sister, Charlotte Sapp. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, World War II, and was a 1950 honors graduate from Auburn University. He was retired from Dupont with 35 years of service. He was an active member of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, and was a past president of the Men’s Club. He currently served as head usher. He also served as president of the Kingwood Homeowners Association for 13 years. Services were at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church chapel with the Rev. Mark Westmoreland officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Donna Sullivan, Fayetteville; a son, John L. and Brenda Sullivan, Salem, Ala.; daughters, Phyllis and Joel Price, Douglasville, Barbara and Wade Casteel, Manchester, and Laurie and Andre Van Oyen, St. Louis, Mo.; brothers, Bill Sullivan, Mt. Dora, Fla., and Bob Sullivan, Pelham, Ala.; grandchildren; Jennifer Miller, Cliff Casteel, Joel Price, Ashlee Fuller, Kim Kapeleris, Andre Van Oyen III, Benjamin J. Sullivan, and Kevin Casteel; and three great-grandchildren. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge. login to post comments |
