Augustin Clayton DAR state appointees

The Augustin Clayton Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution has been honored by the Georgia State Society DAR.
Laura Reid, the new State Regent, has announced that eleven members of this local chapter have accepted state appointments for her administration.

Pictured (L-R) are: Lynn Dorney of Fayetteville, state vice chairman for fiber arts, American heritage committee; Betty Harrah of Fayetteville, state chairman, DAR magazine; Rebecca West of Fayetteville, state chairman, membership; Rebecca Rostron of McDonough, state chairman, DAR service to veterans; Natalie Davis of Hampton, member, timekeepers committee; and Carolyn Balog of Hampton, state chairman, American Indians.

These ladies have received these state appointments as a result of their many hours of volunteer efforts on behalf of the DAR at the local level. To receive this many appointments in one chapter is a testament to the caliber of local ladies who truly demonstrate the DAR tradition of promoting patriotism, education and historic preservation.

The Daughters of the American Revolution is the world's largest women's volunteer service organization. Founded more than 100 years ago, today it has over 170,000 members around the world.
Membership is available to any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution.

The Augustin Clayton Chapter DAR serves Fayette, Henry and Clayton counties. For more information on joining this team of women volunteers or on the many community based sponsored programs, contact membership chairman Phyllis Lawson at 770-473-1218.
