Elizabeth Monterey “Betty” Vaillancourt Croley, 82, College Park, died Aug. 4, 2006. She was born Aug. 26, 1923 in Fulton County. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Daniel F. Croley, and a daughter, Jane Croley Spradlin. She was a professional seamstress whose knowledge and skill created a loyal following for more than 60 years. She was a member of the College Park First United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, had chaired the Ruth Circle, and had served as Sunday School president. She was a past president of the College Park Historical Society, and a member of Young-at-Heart Club. Services were at the College Park First United Methodist Church with the Rev. James McRae, and the Rev. Beth Sanders officiating. Interment was at the College Park Cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Ginger Croley Blackstone, Tyrone; grandsons, Lonnie and Kim Blackstone Jr., Fayetteville, and Scott and Leslie Spradlin, Daphne, Ala.; granddaughters, Lara Spradlin and Kirk Dial, McDonough, Amy Spradlin and Mike Amor, Stockbridge, and Amber Blackstone and Jarrette Burckhalter, College Park; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Grace Speights, Lithia Springs, sisters-in-law, Lois Vaillancourt, Senoia, Norma Jones, Fayetteville, and Thelma and Joe Hudson, Rex; and a son-in-law, Ira and Nancy Spradlin, Jonesboro. Memorial donations may be made to Southwest Christian Care, 7225 Lester Road, Union City, GA 30291. Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, East Point, was in charge. login to post comments |
