Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Hansen of Newnan announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Lauren Hansen, to Benjamin Patrick Gootee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Gootee of Metairie, La.

The bride-to-be is the maternal granddaughter of Mrs. Kathleen Holloway of Fernandina Beach, Fla. and the late Franklin Holloway, and the paternal granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hansen of Tampa, Fla. She received a bachelor of science in management from Georgia Tech in Atlanta.

The groom-elect is the maternal grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Thomas of Fountain Hills, Ariz. and the paternal grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Gootee of New Orleans, La. He received a bachelor of science in building construction from Georgia Tech in Atlanta and is a project manager with Gootee Construction in New Orleans.

The wedding will be Sept. 9, 2006, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Fernandina Beach, Fla. A reception will follow at Amelia Island Plantation.

Following a honeymoon in St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Metairie, La.
