Peachtree City resident Lily Trout has been awarded a $20,000 scholarship to attend East Carolina University. Trout will receive $5,000 annually as part of the Miller/Moore/Oglesby East Carolina Scholars Award. She plans to major in biology at ECU. Trout graduated from McIntosh High School and is the daughter of Eric Trout and Martha Clatterbuck. In high school she was a member of the Beta Club, the National Honor Society, Ambassadors, the Spanish National Honor Society, Young Democrats and the Environmental Club. All recipients of EC Scholars Awards are part of a program that stresses rigorous academics, leadership training and community service. “We are proud to welcome these outstanding EC Scholars to East Carolina University and look forward to their contributions in the classroom and in the community,” said Michael Bassman, associate vice chancellor and director of the Honors Program at ECU. login to post comments |
