Congressman David Scott’s 2nd Annual Health Fair will be held Saturdy, Aug. 19 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Mundy’s Mill High School, 9652 Fayetteville Road in Jonesboro. Leading non-profit organizations, hospitals, government agencies, and members of the health care industry that have agreed to participate include: Pfizer, Inc., Georgia Transplant Foundation, Southern Regional Health System, Emory Healthcare, AID Atlanta, Grady Health System, Henry Medical Center, AARP, American Heart Association, Riverdale Fire Services, American Red Cross, Social Security Administration, Nanston Dental, Resurgens Orthopedics, SAFE America, Fulton County Office on Aging, and many others! Some of the events will include: free health screenings for HIV, vision, dental, blood pressure, cholesterol & many more; blood drive; and a fitness, cooking and CPR demonstration.

Those attending will hear directly from Congressman Scott and special guest speakers including Ruby Dee, a renowned actress & healthcare advocate and will learn about health assistance programs like Medicare, Medicaid, PeachCare, prescription drug assistance, and others for the uninsured.
