The Joseph Sams School has received a $25,000 grant from the General Unrestricted Fund of The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta to support technology for the students to help them become more independent.

In announcing the grant, Alicia Philipp, president of The Community Foundation, said that the Foundation is pleased to support the crucial community service that The Joseph Sams School provides.

Clemene Ramsey, executive director of The Joseph Sams School, says that the grant comes at a pivotal time for the school and that the funds will be used to provide computers, assistive technology, specialized software, adaptive screens and keyboards.

The Joseph Sams School is an accredited, private, non-profit school located in Fayetteville, Georgia. The school serves children who have mild to severe intellectual, physical or diagnosed developmental disabilities from birth through high school.

There are no geographic restrictions for attendance, although the majority of students reside in Clayton, Coweta, Fayette, Fulton and Henry counties. The Joseph Sams School is the only school of its kind in the metropolitan Atlanta area that provides services to such a broad range of students with disabilities.
