Members of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will travel to Gulfport, Miss. Oct. 19-23 for a short-term mission project assisting Mississippi City UMC in Katrina Recovery efforts. Other members of the community are invited to accompany them, old and young alike, whether they are members of FFUMC or not. Team members do not need special qualifications or experiences, only a willing spirit and a desire to reach out to others. “The goal of this trip is to be a blessing to others as well as to be blessed by the short-term mission experience,” a spokesperson said. “This is for young and old alike and we need to know soon if you are interested.” The cost per team member is $250. Scholarships are available. For information, contact program director Laura Cox, 770-461-4313, or missions lay leader Len Gough, 770-460-7056. login to post comments |
