The Unity Christian Church will host a Celebration and Building Dedication service Sunday, Nov. 13, at 3 p.m. at its new location and new church home, 426 Rivers Rd., between Ga. Hwys. 74 and 92 in Fayetteville.

Special musical guests will be Emory University’s Voices of Inner Strength (V.O.I.S.) gospel choir, and Berry College’s gospel choir. Praise and worship will be led by Unity’s own Praise Team. Special gifts also will be presented.

A church dinner will follow the worship service.

The Unity Christian Church’s first service was conducted in May of 2001 by Senior Pastor Smith A. Atwater and his wife, Merrian Atwater. During the four years of Unity’s existence, the church has met in leased space at two different locations.

Atwater said, “We certainly thank and praise God for blessing us with a church home and enough land to expand as the Lord directs! Our ministry, message and mission has always been, and will continue to be, one of Christian unity, love and fellowship — regardless of denominational affiliation, culture, race, or creed.

“We are committed to doing our part to help mend rifts within the Christian Church, empower God’s people to live a victorious life by studying and understanding the Word of God, and positively impacting our community and neighborhoods by identifying and meeting the needs of people in ways that demonstrate the love of Christ.”
