First Presbyterian Church of Peachtree City is continuing the “40 Days of Community” Bible study designed by the author of “The Purpose Driven Life,” Rick Warren. The program encourages congregations to become “better together” by working through outreach to the community.

A church-wide mission day was celebrated in October. Activities included a church sponsored youth group outing to glean fields in South Georgia to feed the hungry, and a clean-up/fix-up group who spent the day at Community Welcome House, a shelter for victims of domestic violence in Coweta County.

Other mission work for the day included a support team assisting the Red Cross with volunteer efforts that included delivery of church congregation donations of home-baked goods to those in service. A church-wide yard sale with proceeds benefiting the Fayette Samaritans, a non profit organization helping the needy, also was held in the church.

The 40 Days program continued with a Ministry Fair on Nov. 6 and will close with Celebration Sunday on Nov. 13.

The church is at 206 Willowbend Road. For more information call 770-487-7757.
