FCHS Class of 1936 reunion

The Fayette County High School class of 1936 held its reunion recently and reminisced about that day long go, May 22,1936, when 38 young ladies and nine young men graduated. They each received their diploma from Charles Thornton.

They’re proud that 22 of their comrades are still living.

Their junior-senior reception was held at the home of L. A. Ingram in Fayetteville. The senior banquet was held at the Virginia Tea Room in Atlanta.

Henrietta Redwine (Dennis) was the valedictorian of the class and speaker was Lester Rumble, a preacher from Atlanta.

The senior trip was a visit to various sites in Atlanta.
