George O. Allen Jr., Fayetteville, died July 24, 2006. He was born Nov. 2, 1929 in Butts County. He was veteran of the United States Army, having served in Korea. He was retired from the Federal Government. Graveside services were at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, College Park, with Chaplain Tom Roan officiating. Survivors include sisters, Frankie H. Gunter, Fayetteville, and Virginia H. and Joe Harkness, Sharpsburg; and special Korean family, Kookbyung and Laura Yang, and their son and daughter. Memorial donations may be given to the Southwest Christian Care, 7225 Lester Road, Union City, GA 30291. Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, East Point, was in charge.
