Newnan’s new StonePoint Church sets first meeting for August 13Tue, 08/01/2006 - 3:26pm
By: The Citizen
On Sunday, Aug. 13, StonePoint Church will begin its first weekly meeting at 10 a.m. in the Georgian Cinema, 232 Newnan Crossing Bypass in Newnan, near Best Buy. Pastor Scott Whitaker says StonePoint is going in a direction few churches have gone. It’s the first church to ever meet in the Georgian Cinema. It’s an active participant in the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce. The staff spends its time in local businesses and coffee shops rather than secluded in an office. StonePoint has live music with guitars, drums and keyboard. It uses the latest technology, video, lighting and culture to convey its message. And, it boasts it has the most comfortable seats in town with the theater’s stadium seating and cup holders. StonePoint meets in four theaters in the Georgian Cinema. Three are used for children and one for adults. The congregation will meet every Sunday at 10 a.m., but those attending may want to come early for free doughnuts, pastries and coffee.
