Crews to repair railroad crossing

Getting to and from the Interstate will be a bit tougher next weekend as part of Ga. Highway 74 in Tyrone will be closed so the CSX railroad tracks can be repaired, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Lanes will be blocked in both directions but a detour route will be marked, officials said.

The road closing is planned for Saturday, Aug. 5 and Sunday, Aug. 6 between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. both days.

For those going north to the Interstate, one shortcut would involve turning left onto Tyrone Road then right on Senoia Road, right onto Swanson Road and then a left on Ellison Road and a left on Jenkins Road to get back onto Hwy. 74.
