Amelia Beach, a senior at McIntosh High School, was chosen by adidas as one of the top 100 fast-pitch athletes in the nation. She has been starting catcher for the Lady Chiefs for the last three years and currently plays for the Georgia Titans, the top ranked team in the state. The Titans earned a berth to play in the 18 Gold Nationals in Oklahoma City next month.

The adidas Futures staff attended several national and elite tournaments, while also hosting six showcase events at colleges around the nation, looking for the best of the best and Beach was fortunate enough to be among the top 100.

On Sept. 2 and 3, the top 100 athletes will compete in St. George, Utah in front of an array of college coaches seraching for that perfect fit at the next level. The first day of events will consist of players showcasing speed, finesse, attitude, offensive and defensive skills, while day two will feature a series of games where those skills will truly be out to the test.
