First Presbyterian Church of Peachtree City on Willowbend Road will welcome Dr. John Odom as its new minister of music beginning in August.

Odom, well known for his musical talents as the current choir director of Starr’s Mill High School, comes to the position with an extensive background in musical ministry as well as scholastic musical direction. He will lead the adult choir and the handbell choir.

Odom received his Ph.D from the University of Southern Mississippi. His choirs have consistently received superior ratings in performances under his direction. He also has experience in musical theater.

Odom says he is looking forward to participation of the choirs as a spiritual family on all levels, with a special interest in community events.
