Toastmasters new officers

Andy Waits was recently installed as the incoming president of High Noon Toastmasters. Other officers installed were Dale Klauss, vice president of education; Allen Ryes, vice president of membership; Steve Widener, vice president of public relations; Carol Lunsford, secretary/treasurer and Tom Lunsford, sergeant of arms.

The High Noon Toastmasters Club is one of the more than 10,500 Toastmasters clubs around the world. Through participation in the Toastmasters program, people from all backgrounds learn to effectively speak, conduct meetings, manage a department or business, lead, delegate and motivate.

A Toastmasters club is a “learn-by-doing” workshop in which men and women hone their skills in a comfortable, friendly atmosphere. Those joining a Toastmasters club learn communication skills by working in the “Communication Program” manual, a series of 10 speaking assignments designed to instill a basic foundation in public speaking.

The club meeting lasts approximately one hour on the second and fourth Tuesdays at 12 p.m. at the Lafayette Educational Center (the old Fayette County High School) in Building B, room 208. Visitors are always welcome.
