But property tax bills will go up

Tyrone residents will see an increase on their town property tax bills, but the town will be able to hold its millage rate the same as last year, officials said.

The Town Council has decided not to roll back the millage rate to account for increased property valuations. The millage rate will stay the same as the past few years, at 2.9 mills, said Town Manager Barry Amos.

Because each parcel is valued differently, the tax hike will vary from parcel to parcel.

The town recently passed a record $5.7 million budget, which includes an $182,500 increase for sewer capacity from the city of Fairburn.
