Palmetto Elementary School held its annual Spelling Bee recently, with first place going to Trey McLendon in Ms. Tomecek’s fifth-grade class. Trey will go on to compete in the Fulton County Spelling Bee.

Palmetto Elementary School held its first Accelerated Reading Super Bowl Contest this week. Students, faculty and staff wore their favorite football team jerseys. Students read all day long. Classes that read the most books and passed comprehension test on the book they read received points. The class with the most points won a class pizza party. The winners of the contest were Mrs. Sasser’s kindergarten class and Ms. Marcelin’s fourth-grade class.
