Double delight at the Villages this weekend

Chuck Negron

The Grammy-Award winning band Blood Sweat & Tears (BS&T) will perform with Chuck Negron, formerly of Three Dog Night, at the Villages Amphitheater on Saturday, July 22.

Formed in New York City in 1967, Blood Sweat & Tears is a daring and innovative band with a fiery fusion of jazz and rock, blues and the classics. They were the first contemporary band to break through the iron curtain with the historic 1970 tour of Eastern Europe. BS&T are also famous for their headlining appearances at Woodstock, Madison Square Garden, Carnegie Hall and the Hollywood Bowl.

Blood Sweat & Tears’ first album sold an amazing ten million copies and won an unprecedented five Grammy awards, including Album of the Year and Best Performance by a Male Vocalist. Five successive gold albums and three more gold singles followed, and by 1972 BS&T was at the very top of the music industry.
Their successful hits include “You've Made Me So Very Happy,” “And When I Die,” “Spinning Wheel” and “Go Down Gamblin.”

After many changes in the band, BS&T has special guest Chuck Negron performing with them. Rock-n-Roll first made a difference in Negron’s life in the late 1950’s. By the age of 15, he had recorded his first single record and performed at the world famous Apollo Theater with his vocal group The Rondells.

In 1967, Chuck Negron became a founding member of Three Dog Night. A vocal trio whose roots would be in R&B, rock-n-roll and urban doo wop, but, whose music would be totally new and unique. They had a phenomenal career including many Top 10 and number one hits but Three Dog Night called it quits in 1977.

Negron performs upwards of 75 shows per year, giving sold-out crowds the opportunity to hear his impressive versatility on Three Dog Night's treasure trove of hits, plus an exciting repertoire of new songs as well.

Negron’s songs include “How Bout Us,” “Am I Still In Your Heart” and “Soul To Soul.”
