PTC NNLC sets Amnesty DayThu, 07/20/2006 - 1:30pm
By: The Citizen
Peachtree City New Neighbors League Club (NNLC) will sponsor its annual “Amnesty Day” Thursday, August 10 at the Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church at 101 N. Peachtree Pkwy. The club’s general meeting will begin at 10 a.m. with a social at 9:30 a.m. Normally, new residents are invited to join NNLC by the New Neighbors League Area Representative within their first year of moving to Fayette or neighboring counties. However, Amnesty Day opens membership to residents who have lived here for more than year and never joined the club. Anyone who missed the opportunity to join during their first year of moving here is welcome to attend the August meeting and join at that time. The club’s lifetime membership fee is $25 plus $20 for the first year’s subscription to the monthly newsletter, “Peachtree Pathways.” The newsletter provides information on the various interest groups and special activites, including monthly tours, luncheons, and speakers. New Neighbors League Club is an Atlanta-based organization with 14 chapters throughout the United States. Its motto is “fun and friendship,” and its purpose is to bring together new neighbors so they can make friends while adjusting to new surroundings. The PTC chapter, chartered in 1986, has more than 250 members. For more information on the club or Amnesty Day, contact Carol Jensen-Linton at 770-486-9116. login to post comments |
