RISMedia Real Estate Magazine recently released its 2006 Power Broker Report and Survey, which measures real estate related business performance of the top brokers in the nation among other trends. Metro Brokers/GMAC Real Estate ranked 34th in the nation in transactions, up six spots from last year, and 60th in the nation for volume, which was up 10 spots. GMAC Real Estate’s Company-Owned Operations ranked ninth in transactions and fourth in volume. The report noted that because job growth, low interest rates and population were aligned perfectly in 2005, it was a profitable year for many companies. The report also pointed to the Internet as a huge catalyst for success with 77 percent of buyers starting their search for homes on the Internet. Terry Morris, President of GMAC Company-Owned Real Estate, said, “Agents with advanced communication and technological skills will have a decided advantage. Additionally, lead-generation tools and lead-generation companies are making the Internet an even more powerful tool for home searching.” This point was driven home with the results of a survey on what are the most pressing issues on the minds of brokers. Online lead generation and data security were the two most important factors after recruiting and retention. Metro Brokers/GMAC Real Estate, established in 1979, has 21 metro Atlanta offices and offers a wide range of real estate services including residential and commercial sales; pre- and post-license training; corporate relocation; new home sales and marketing; and insurance, mortgage and title/closing services. The company is the largest GMAC Real Estate franchise in the world and the 38th largest real brokerage company in the country in terms of units sold. The company has more than tripled in size over the last five years with more than 2,500 licensees, making the company the largest license holder in the state of Georgia. |
