Powell headed to national pageantWed, 07/19/2006 - 3:06pm

Alexa Faith Powell, age 8, has been chosen as a national finalist in the Miss American Sweetheart Pageant to be held November 20-26, 2006 at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Powell won the honor of Miss Georgia Coed Sweetheart Talent. She will be representing her state and competing for the Miss Victory title. The pageant is held for girls ages 3 through 22 years old. The winner of the pageant will receive a $600 cash award, the official crown, banner and a bouquet of flowers. She will also be invited to make appearances as National Royalty at all American Coed State Pageants during the year of her reign. According to pageant officials, since 1983 American Coed Pageant System has awarded more than $12 million in scholarships and awards to deserving young ladies. Powell’s activities include singing in the children’s choir at church, dancing, making new friends and training her dogs. She also enjoys being a member of the Awanas Club at her church. She is the daughter of Stephen and Susan Powell of Fayetteville, Ga. login to post comments |
