Bill Koetje is new assistant pastor at North Fayette UMC

Bill Koetje, a retired Methodist pastor from the Alabama-West Florida Conference has joined the staff of North Fayette United Methodist Church as its new assistant pastor.

Koetje (pronounced “Kootchie”) will serve in a part time and volunteer capacity to assist the senior pastor in the work of evangelism and other pastoral duties.

Koetje is an Air Force retiree who answered the call to a second career in pastoral ministry as a United Methodist pastor. He attended the Candler School of Theology and has served several different congregations for the past two decades.

He has served both as senior pastor and part time associate minister since his retirement from full time service.

Koetje and his wife, Billye, have been attending worship services at North Fayette for the past several months and recently joined the congregation. They also have relocated to the Fayette area from south Alabama.
