• The Woodcreek Waves, a local swimming team, had four swimmers qualify for the state meet. Chris Hall, 14, made it in the Medley and Free Relays, as well as in the 100 freestyle with a time of 58.85. Robbie Scott, 10, made it in the 100 individual medley (with a time of 1:21.36) and in the 25 Butterfly, as well as in both of his relays, the Medley and the Free. Erin Egoroff, 9, also qualified in both the Medley and Free relays. • At last week’s Thursday Thunder at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Fayetteville’s Jonathan Chandler once again bested former Starr’s Mill graduate Trey Maughan in the Outlaws division. Brooks’ Billy Fulson placed fifth in the Semi-Pro race, while Leslie Cash (Brooks) placed seventh in the Chargers race, ahead of Tyrone’s Randy Janinda (eighth) and Brooks’ Amanda Harbin (12th). Brooks’ Matt Dooley placed 11th in the Bandits race. login to post comments |
