By this morning, more than 2,100 votes had already been cast in tomorrow's election, local officials said.

That figure includes persons who voted absentee and those who voted during the early voting period all last week, when any Fayette voter could cast their ballot at the county's elections office in downtown Fayetteville.

As of Monday morning, some 1,713 Republican ballots had been filed with 424 Democratic ballots filed, officials said.

Voters will decide statewide races for either party, but to vote on the local races for county commission and the board of education, residents must choose a Republican ballot.

Polls will be open Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
