PETCO Animal Supplies, Inc. announces the grand opening of its new Peachtree City store, located at 1243 N. Peachtree Parkway July 14 through July 16 . The three-day event will feature pet adoptions and a variety of animal-related activities to welcome the community.

The grand opening will offer free professional pet photography for the first 30 customers each day and, of course, animals are always welcome at PETCO!

Kids can bring their own happy hamsters and hamster balls to the grand opening Hamster Races each day. In addition, kids will have a great time interacting with the animals, playing with a professional clown, and participating in a coloring contest.

Fluffy and Fido can show off their coolest moves during the Best Pet Trick contests on Friday and Sunday and proud pet parents can submit photos to the Best Pet Photo contest all weekend long. Plus, pups of all proportions can enter the Biggest Dog/Smallest Dog contest on Saturday at 2 p.m.

“We're so happy to be a part of the community," says General Manager Michael Simpkins. "We're definitely looking forward to meeting the pets and the people of the neighborhood."

To highlight PETCO's commitment to animal welfare, companion animals will be available throughout the weekend for adoption. PETCO further encourages adoptions by offering new pet parents special Adoption Gift Booklets with up to $350 in savings on PETCO products and services. To cash in on the savings, new pet parents simply bring their adoption papers to any PETCO location to stock up on supplies and welcome their new family member home.

The store follows the new "Pisces" layout, which features a circular racetrack aisle and clearly identified departments to make shopping at PETCO even more convenient and enjoyable. Animals will greet customers at the center of the store, and the grooming department will resemble a salon and day spa. The store will also include a "Think Adoption First" Resource Center to encourage PETCO customers to consider adoption before the purchase of any companion animal-even if it's one of the birds, reptiles, or small animals currently offered in PETCO stores.
